Every now and then I need to refresh my Twitch streaming schedule to make sure I am still hitting all the points I want to with my streams. I aim for each day to have a sort of vibe so you know what to expect regardless of the game I am playing. Occasionally, this means doing a bit of relabeling and reorganizing to keep up with how things drift over time. So, without further ado, let’s get into the changes ahead!
First up, and the reason I started thinking of making some changes, I had two puzzle game based streaming slots: Sundays 1pm to 4pm and Mondays 8:30pm to 9:45pm. That was… a lot. I’m smart, but not THAT smart, and I noticed that I’ve felt significantly less rushed and more analytical during my Sunday streams. The Sunday slot makes me think of waking up, getting some coffee, and doing puzzles in the Sunday paper. So, once I wrap up Dreamfall Chapters on Monday nights, all puzzle games are going to be moving to Sundays at 1pm EST.
Monday night streams instead will be focused on achievement hunting. We already have some of this happening on Monday nights with Achievement Initiative in Epic42’s Twitch channel, but that is purely in Secret World Legends. I’d like to spend some time revisiting games and going for achievements I might have missed in the process of the game the first time. I’m working on a list of games and achievements right now, so more on that later. Again, I am wrapping up Dreamfall Chapters first, so we have a bit of time before this change goes into full effect.
The second reason I wanted to shuffle my streams up a bit was to move story-based games off Wednesday nights. After a long day at work, streaming something plot intensive is a bit exhausting, and I feel like my patience for learning mechanics is much lower. This wasn’t an issue when playing Neverwinter Nights, a series I know well, but it’s rapidly rearing its head in The Witcher.
Solution therefore: Wednesdays will now be when I indulge my love of MMO games. FFXIV currently has my attention, but if that changes, I’ll likely shift to one of the other MMOs I’ve started but not given much attention (Black Desert Online, Elder Scrolls Online, etc). I also have my eye on a few upcoming games I’d like to give a try so we may do some exploring there. This is going to be going into effect immediately. Sorry everyone who was eager to see me play The Witcher, but like I said: I don’t have the patience to really focus on learning the mechanics on weeknights and I want to do the series justice. I’ll give it a bit then come back to the series fresh.
Story games like The Witcher are now going to be merging into the Sunday night timeslot. Originally I was keeping fantasy games to Wednesdays and science fiction games to Sundays to give them bot their own spotlights, but the truth is I just am better at playing new games over the weekends when I have a bit more energy. So, Sunday at 9:30pm expect a new wave of story-driven game playthroughs to start up.
That’s the bulk of it. Friday nights will remain the Variety Pack night where I pull in random friends to try out new stuff as their schedules allow. If you see anything fun I should check out, send it my way and we might give it a try on some Friday night. Tuesdays and Thursdays are when I do most of my chatbot work, so if I am ever streaming those nights, it will be spontaneous. Saturdays you’re more likely to catch me on Nephalope’s channel playing Dungeons and Dragons (roughly every other week).
Again, Mondays will be the last time slot to transition over to the new schedule while I wrap up Dreamfall Chapters. As ever, if it turns out something isn’t clicking, I’ll learn and adjust to keep giving you the streams you want to see. I hope to see you all in chat soon!
